The manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” by Gege Akutami has reached its conclusion with the 44th issue of “Weekly Shonen Jump” released on September 30th. It was also revealed that the total number of copies of the comic series, including the digital version, has exceeded 100 million. The latest volume 28 will be released on October 4th, and the 29th and final volumes 30 and 31 will be released on December 25th.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a dark fantasy manga by Gege Akutami that began serialization in issue 14 of Weekly Shonen Jump (released on March 5, 2018). The story begins when a powerful “cursed object” is unsealed, and high school student Yuji Itadori enters a world of battles surrounding curses. The manga has already published 27 volumes, with volume 0 currently on sale as “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.”
The anime series began with the first season, which aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the movie “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie,” released in December 2021, was a huge hit, grossing 26.5 billion yen worldwide. The second season of the TV anime will air from July to December 2023, and a sequel to the TV anime, “Shimetsu Kaiyu,” is scheduled to be produced, and a compilation movie of the second season, “Kaitama/Tamaori,” is scheduled to be released in 2025.
