“Jujutsu Kaisen” has concluded, with many readers still excited: “I’m shaking” and “The ending was too good…” The release of the anime director’s original illustrations has created a huge buzz

The manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” came to an end in the 44th issue of “Weekly Shonen Jump” released on September 30, 2024. Until the end of the serialization, the phrase “○ more chapters” trended on social media every week, and on the day of the end, “#JujutsuKaisen” continued to be one of the top trends. Not only readers, but also the anime official X (formerly Twitter) and voice actors posted their excited thoughts after reading the final episode, and the series came to a close with regret from many people.

“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a dark fantasy manga serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” by Gege Akutami. One day, the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, takes a curse into his soul in order to save a classmate who has been attacked by a curse. The story follows the hero’s dramatic journey through the curse.

It was made into an anime in October 2020, and the movie “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie” was released in December 2021, becoming a huge hit with a worldwide box office revenue of 26.5 billion yen. The second season of the TV anime, “Kaitama: Tamaori/Shibuya Incident”, will be broadcast from July to December 2023, and a theatrical compilation of “Kaitama: Tamaori” is scheduled to be released in 2025. The production of the third season of the anime, “Shimetsu Kaiyu”, has also been decided. In addition, the “Akutami Gege Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition” will be held in Osaka from April 2025.

The manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” has finally come to an end with the 271st chapter published today, September 30th. It will bring to a close a history of about six and a half years since its serialization began in 2018.

Starting on September 24th, one week before the end of the series, a countdown was held on the official account by posting images of “x number of days left.” Although people were looking forward to the end, they were also expressing sadness every day, with comments such as “Oh no! It’s my favorite series!”, “I’m curious about the final episode, but I don’t want it to end,” and “Please have a happy ending…”

Even after finishing the final chapter, which was decorated with a huge center color page, readers are still expressing their thoughts, saying things like, “I’m shaking after finishing it,” “The return of that character…” and “The ending was so good… thank you so much for your hard work.”

In addition, to commemorate the completion of the series, the 44th issue will come with a bound-in appendix of the “Jujutsu Kaisen” serialization completion commemoration!! Final episode memorial postcard with a handwritten message from Akutami and a newly drawn illustration. Readers were not the only ones who shed tears at the final episode. The latest 28th volume of the manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” was released on October 4th, followed by the 29th and final 30th volumes on December 25th.
