The TV anime “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon S” will be rebroadcast on TOKYO MX from October 2, 2024. It is the third installment of the “Sailor Moon Series,” which aired from March 1994 to February 1995 and depicts the story that corresponds to the “Death Busters Arc” of the original work.
The story of “Sailor Moon S” begins when Sailor Moon’s future daughter, Chibi-Usa, returns to the future world, and the Sailor Guardians, Usagi, Rei, Ami, Makoto, Minako, and others, become third-year junior high school students and live peaceful lives. One day, Rei, who is highly sensitive to spirits, has a nightmare in which the world is engulfed in darkness and collapses.
While trying to find the cause of the nightmare, Rei is attacked by a monster called Daimon, sent by a new enemy. Usagi rushes to the scene and transforms into Sailor Moon to fight Daimon, but the transformation brooch is destroyed by the enemy’s increased power. But then a mysterious new warrior appears and defeats Daimon. Seeing the crystallization of her restored pure heart, she leaves, saying, “This is not a talisman.”
The Death Busters, who control the Daimons, the new warriors Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Moon, who has been powered up by the power of love… Thus begins a three-way battle over the “Talisman” that resides in the crystallization of a pure heart.
In this film, the three outer solar system warriors, including new characters Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto from the previous film “R”, the enemy Death Busters, and Usagi’s Sailor Team engage in a fierce three-way battle over the existence of Sailor Saturn, the warrior of destruction. Chibi-Usa, who returned to the future at the end of “R”, also reappears as Sailor Chibi Moon, an apprentice Sailor Warrior.
In addition to the thrilling storyline, the series will be packed with highlights, including the appearance of super popular characters such as Haruka Tenno, Michiru Kaiou, and Hotaru Tomoe. In response to the rebroadcast, voice actress Megumi Ogata, who plays Haruka Tenno, also expressed her expectations on her X (formerly Twitter).
