The trailer and poster visual for the drama “Oshi no Ko” have been released. The original song “We are Completely Invincible Idols!!” sung by the idol group B-Komachi has also been unveiled, and you can hear a snippet of the singing voice.
“Oshi no Ko” is based on a manga by Akasaka Aka and Yokoyari Mengo, which has sold over 18 million copies. The story is about the fate of Goro, an obstetrician-gynecologist working in a provincial city, who has a terrible encounter with Ai, an idol of his “oshi” (favorite) B-Komachi, who harbors a forbidden secret.
Following the serialization that began in 2020 and a TV anime adaptation in 2023, a live-action film project by Amazon and Toei has begun. The cast includes a lineup of today’s hottest characters, including Saito Asuka as the legendary idol Ai, Sakurai Kaito as the twin sibling Aqua, Saito Nagisa as Ruby, Hara Nanoka as the former child prodigy Arima Kana, Ano as the popular influencer MEMcho, and Kayashima Mizuki as Kurokawa Akane, who appears in a romance reality show. The
drama series will be available worldwide exclusively to Prime members on Prime Video from 9pm on November 28th, and the sequel film will be released nationwide on December 20th by Toei.
The latest trailer and poster visual for the drama series “Oshi no Ko” have been announced. The original song sung by Saito Nagisa, Hara Nanoka, and Ano as the idol B-Komachi, who appears in the drama, was also unveiled for the first time.
The trailer shows how Aqua and Ruby’s lives change after losing Ai. Aqua is seized by a desire for revenge as she searches for the truth behind her mother’s death, while Ruby dreams of becoming an idol like her mother. The two push forward into the entertainment industry with their own dreams.
However, what awaits them is the reality hidden behind this glamorous world. Will Aqua and Ruby be able to survive in a world full of lies from adults and discover the truth behind Ai’s death?
In the poster visual, Ai and B-Komachi are shown in a dazzling performance scene, with their dazzling smiles, while Aqua has a grim expression as she decides to get revenge. There is also a picture of Akane Kurokawa, who is suffering from slander on social media after appearing on the show, giving a sense of both the light and the dark that lurk in the entertainment industry.
Prior to the start of the drama’s broadcast, an event called “Drama & Movie [Oshi no Ko] World Premiere” will be held on November 17th, where the main cast will appear. The original song “We Are Completely Invincible Idols!!” will also be released at a later date, and details for each will be announced at a later date.
