The third stage adaptation of the manga “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Stage Play “Jujutsu Kaisen 0″ WITH LIVE BAND” will be performed in Tokyo in December 2024 and in Osaka in January 2025. The “Geto Group Visual” has been released, featuring the first appearance of visuals of Larue (Kitamura Kai) and Negi Rikyu (Shiota Kohei). In addition, it has been decided that the previous stage play “Kyoto Sister School Exchange Meeting – Kishou Raido” will be released in its entirety for free on the YouTube “Jump Channel”.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a dark fantasy by Gege Akutami that depicts the battle between curses born from negative human emotions and sorcerers who exorcise them with sorcery. It will be completed in September 2024 in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump”, ending its 6.5 year serialization. The total number of copies of the comic series, including digital versions, has exceeded 100 million.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the first film adaptation, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie,” was a huge hit, grossing 26.5 billion yen worldwide. The second season of the TV anime, “Kaitama: Tamaori/Shibuya Incident,” aired from July to December 2023, and received a great response not only in Japan but all over the world. The production of the sequel, “Shimetsu Kaiyu,” has also been decided, and the release of the theatrical compilation of the second season, “Kaitama: Tamaori,” is scheduled for 2025, adding to the excitement.
The third stage adaptation, “Stage Play “Jujutsu Kaisen 0″ WITH LIVE BAND”, will be a live performance of the original episode “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School”, which is a prequel to “Jujutsu Kaisen”, performed live by a band for the first time in the series. The “Geto faction visual” was released in the October 7, 2024 issue of “Weekly Shonen Jump”, marking the first time that visuals of Lalu (Kitamura Kai) and Negi Rihisa (Shiota Kohei) have been unveiled. Information on the band members and side seats that will be performing has also been announced, so be sure to check that out as well.
It has also been announced that the previous production, “Jujutsu Kaisen – Kyoto Sister School Exchange, Kishou Raito”, which was performed in Tokyo and Hyogo from December 2023 to January 2024, will be premiered in its entirety for free on YouTube’s Jump Channel. The premiere will start at 7pm on October 12th. An archived stream will also be available after the premiere ends and until 11:59pm on October 14th. A talk segment featuring Sato Ryuji, who plays Itadori Yuji, Koyanagi Shin, who plays Toudou Aoi, and Fujita Rei, who plays Geto Suguru, will also be available exclusively for this stream, so fans should make sure not to miss it.
