The TV anime “Gintama” will open a “Gintama Character Pop-up Store” for a limited time at the Bandai Namco Cross Store Atre Akihabara store in Akihabara, Tokyo from September 13, 2024. It will then be held in Umeda, Osaka in November and Hakata, Fukuoka in December.
“Gintama” is a TV anime and theatrical anime series based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi. Set in Edo, where values suddenly change due to the invasion of the Tenjin (aliens), it boasts enduring popularity as a thrilling entertainment packed with hilarious gags and action, as well as human feelings and bonds.
In December 2024, the exhibition “Gintama 20th Anniversary Exhibition – Gathering of the 20th” will begin a nationwide tour in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
The TV anime series was broadcast from 2006 to 2013, with the 367th episode coming to an end in October 2018. Theatrical versions of the anime were also released, including “Gintama: The Movie – The New Benizakura Arc” in 2010, “Gintama: The Movie – The Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya” written by the original author Sorachi Hideaki in 2013, and “Gintama: The Final”, which depicts the end of the original work, in 2021.
This time, the “Gintama Character Pop Store” will sell original goods using illustrations based on the theme of “Shukou Bokushu.” In addition, new goods using “Shoka Sonjuku: Roshigumi Arc” and “Kachou Fuugetsu,” which previously appeared at the theme park “J-World Tokyo,” will also be available.
In “Shoka Sonjuku: Roshigumi Arc,” Gin-san, Takasugi, and Katsura appear in visuals from when they were attending the Shoka Sonjuku. The Shinsengumi will also be in their younger days.
The original goods feature newly drawn illustrations of Hijikata Toshiro, Okita Sougo, Katsura Kotaro, Takasugi Shinsuke, and Kamui, and the lineup includes the classic “acrylic stand,” as well as “washi-style tin badges,” “mini colored paper,” and “wooden key chains.”
In addition to merchandise for sale, there will also be a “Gintama Lottery” and a mini-game where you can enjoy famous scenes, “Shinpachi’s ‘Glasses See Everything’ Roulette – Let’s reminisce sometimes.”
There are no losers in any of the prizes, and the A prize is an acrylic board, the B prize is a tin badge, and the C prize is an instant photo-style card.
During the Chara Pop Store period, a newly designed “limited edition bromide” will be distributed for every 2,000 yen spent on merchandise, mini games, and lucky draws. In addition, there will be a campaign where you can win a large flag for every 3,000 yen spent in one transaction.
Original goods will also be on sale for a limited time at the Namco Parks Online Store from 11:00 on January 10th to 23:59 on February 12th, 2025.
