October 5th is “Teachers’ Day.”
This comes from the fact that UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) designated the same day as World Teachers’ Day.
Teacher characters are also popular in anime and games. Each character has a different personality, such as one who faces all students head-on, one who only thinks about success, and one who protects students with special powers .
So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Who comes to mind when you think of a ‘teacher’ character?”
following on from last year. We received responses from 970 people during the survey period from September 23rd to September 27th. The gender ratio was about 35 percent male, about 55 percent female, and about 10 percent gave no response, with more females than males. In terms of age group, the majority were young people, with about 55 percent under 19 and about 15 percent in their 20s.
