Rapunzel (Shoko Nakagawa) is a curious 18-year-old girl. She was kidnapped as a baby by Gothel (Yuki Take), who was after her hair, which holds magical powers, and has been locked up in a tall tower ever since. Believing Gothel to be her mother, Rapunzel, who knows nothing of the outside world, dreams of going to see the beautiful “lights” that float in the sky every year on her birthday. However, Gothel won’t let her out, saying that the outside world is dangerous.
One day, just before Rapunzel’s birthday, Flynn Rider (Hatataka Hiroshi), a master thief, wanders into Rapunzel’s tower. After Flynn and the Stubbington brothers (Iijima Hajime) steal the crown from the castle, they fall out. Pursued by the guards, he takes refuge in the tower. A girl with beautiful, long hair that is about 21 meters long. Her hair has the magic to heal wounds and rejuvenate people. She was kidnapped as a child and was imprisoned in a tower in the forest by the evil woman Gothel.
One day, she meets Flynn who sneaks into the tower, and goes on an adventure with him, using her witty ideas, long hair and frying pan.
He is a wanted thief and playboy. He escapes his pursuers and breaks into the tower, only to be caught by Rapunzel. Until now, he has used his good looks and his “seductive face” to get out of trouble, but it doesn’t work on Rapunzel. He
reluctantly teams up with her and sets off on an adventure.
For Rapunzel, who lives in a tower, the only person she can talk to about her dreams and hopes is her best friend, the Chameleon.
Together, they embark on a great adventure to discover the true nature of the mysterious “light.”
