The synopsis and preview cuts of the third episode, “I believe in the heliocentric theory,” from the fall anime “Chi. -About the Earth’s Movement-,” which will be broadcast on Saturday, October 12, 2024, have been released.
“Chi. – About the Movement of the Earth” is a TV anime based on a manga by the young genius writer Uoto, who has won numerous awards including the Manga Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and tells the story of people who risk their beliefs and their lives to prove the heliocentric theory.
The story is set in a certain European country in the 15th century. In an era when the geocentric theory, which says that the Earth is the center of the universe and the planets revolve around it, was considered the truth of the world, and believing or researching anything that overturned that theory was a serious crime, the child prodigy Rafał learns of the possibility of the heliocentric theory through the words of the mysterious scholar Hubert.
He was called a genius by those around him and even considered himself a genius, but an uncontrollable and intense intellectual curiosity began to grow in him. “What on earth do I have to sacrifice to know everything about this world?” he asks, as he risks his own “knowledge,” “blood,” and even his life to prove the heliocentric theory. What fate awaits Rafał?
Episode 3: “I believe in the heliocentric theory” Synopsis
Nowak, who sensed that Rafał had inherited the heretical ideology of the executed Hubert – the heliocentric theory – begins to put pressure on his father-in-law Potocki, who was also a heretic who had been fascinated by the heliocentric theory and had been arrested in the past.
Rafał is arrested after Potocki betrays him. “If I abandon the heliocentric theory, everything will be forgiven.” Rafał is forced to make a choice in court and takes the unbelievable.
The third episode of “Chi. – About the Movement of the Earth” – “I Believe in the Heliocentric Theory” will begin airing on NHK General TV on Saturday, October 12th.

will start broadcasting on NHK General TV from 11:45 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
