Original apparel and goods based on Nyanko-sensei from the TV anime series “Natsume’s Book of Friends” will be available for sale exclusively at Animate from October 19th.
“Natsume’s Book of Friends” is a strange tale of a contract with a supernatural spirit, based on the manga currently being serialized in “Monthly LaLa” by Yuki Midorikawa.
Natsume Takashi, a lonely boy with the secret of being able to see supernatural spirits, has been pursued by supernatural spirits ever since he got his hands on the “Book of Friends,” an heirloom of his grandmother Reiko, who possessed powerful supernatural powers. Natsume spends his busy days with his self-proclaimed bodyguard, Nyanko-sensei, as he tries to fulfill the “contract” his grandmother made with the supernatural spirits.
The TV anime series has aired six seasons so far, with the first season being broadcast in 2008. The voice actors are Kamiya Hiroshi as the protagonist Natsume and Inoue Kazuhiko as Nyanko Sensei. The first full-length original episode was released in September 2018, and two short episodes that were popular with fans were screened in theaters for a limited time in January 2021. The seventh season, “Natsume’s Book of Friends: Urushi,” began airing on October 7, 2024.
Apparel and miscellaneous goods incorporating Nyanko Sensei and flowers from July to December will be released by “arti-mate.” “arti-mate” is a joint brand between Animate and arma bianca, which plans and sells character goods.
This time, the apparel line will release a “Big Silhouette T-shirt” (6 types in total) with a “Flower Motif Version” featuring Nyanko Sensei and flowers from July to December on the chest. The simple design of Nyanko Sensei and flowers is on a white background, and it is available in 4 unisex sizes (S, M, L, XL).
Miscellaneous items include “die-cut stickers,” “one-pocket pass cases,” and “glitter iPhone cases,” each of which are sold in six different types.
In addition, the lineup includes the standard trading items “trading tin badges,” “trading acrylic cards,” and “trading acrylic key tags.” Each item will be sold individually or in a box (you can complete all types in one box).
Both the apparel and miscellaneous goods will be available for limited sale from October 19th at Animate Ikebukuro Main Store 4F, Akihabara Building 1 3F, and Shibuya “Space A la mode”. Reservations will also begin on Animate’s online store from the same day.
