Risa Tsumugi and Koko Hayashi’s radio show “Lisa Coco” is celebrating its first anniversary with Super Yahoo!! “Learn together, laugh together, and carve out a page in your youth” with the Super Mates

The show begins with the two of them calling each other by their nicknames on the show, “Tsumutsum” and “Yashiko,” shouting “Super Yahoo!” [Tsumutsumu and Hayashi Koko’s “Private Risa Coco Super! Academy”]. After the broadcast of a pilot version (currently streaming for free) called the planning meeting of the program in September 2023, the regular program started on October 19 of the same year. The 22nd broadcast on Thursday, October 17, 2024 marked the first anniversary.

“Lisacoco” is set in a fictional school attended by Risa Tsumugi and Koko Hayashi, and the listeners are their classmates called “Super Mates.” The show is based on the concept of “learning together, laughing together, and carving out a page in your youth.” The daily emails sent by these Super Mates are also essential to livening up the show.

In this article, we will take a closer look at the appeal of each corner that Tsumtsum, Yashiko and their unique Super Mates unfold on “Lisa Coco.”

One of the most popular topics in the school is what was written on the memos circulated among female students during class? This is the most popular corner of the show, introducing actual episodes and emails such as “It would be funny if something like this was written.”
Recently, the element of one-liner Ogiri has become more popular, and there are even super mates who post several hilarious jokes on their own! (laughs). Another appeal of the corner is that it is easy for new super mates to participate because it is a one-liner, such as seasonal jokes or things they want the two to talk about.

This is also a corner themed on school-related things. It’s a deep corner where you can learn life lessons such as “The school lunch menu at my school was like this”, “The school I went to had this strange event”, “Thanks to this school event, I’m still able to use it today” (laughs).

This is a popular corner where music-loving Koko Hayashi sets a theme each time and talks passionately about it. Starting with the first episode “Queen”, “The History of Girl Bands”, “Musical Music”, and more, she not only shares her knowledge about music that will leave you speechless, but also recommends easy-to-listen-to works for beginners. The talk is so exciting that there isn’t enough time to listen to it.

The original meaning is mega (byte), giga, or tera, which is also the unit of memory capacity for computers. Mega-Giga-Tera is a link between tera and terakoya, a place of learning in the Edo period. The name was so excellent that it was one of the final candidates for the program name. This
is a popular corner where Monk Tsumugi, who has a wealth of lessons on the order of mega, giga, and tera (?), gives helpful guidance to the various life consultations sent in by Super Mates. The monk’s sharp lessons, delivered each time along with the sound of the temple bell, are becoming a habit for the lost Super Mates, regarding worries such as workplace relationships, love advice, and habits that are difficult to break… or something like that.

Of course, a school is also a place of learning. So, each time, they choose a particular subject, such as social studies or English, and build up their knowledge in the form of a quiz! This is the kind of corner they have. The other regular corners are so exciting that they can’t quite clear all the questions they prepared, but even here, Tsumtsum and Yashiko can’t help but laugh.

Currently, the show is made up of these five sections, but as we enter our second year, will there be any new sections? We hope that the many emails sent by our many Chou Mates will continue to make the show even more exciting!

By the way……

The longest serving listeners of “Cho Mate” are called first-year Cho Mate listeners, and the newcomers who will join from this October will be called second-year Cho Mate listeners. It would be interesting if, at future events, fans interacted with each other and asked, “What year are you in Cho Mate?” “I’m a fifth-year,” “I’m a first-year,” “Wow, you’re quite a veteran.” This is what TsumTsum and Yashiko imagined.

When will there be a real event where we can meet the two of them?
A sports festival? A school trip? Will they wear school uniforms? The fantasies are endless.

The 22nd episode on Thursday, October 17th will be a special edition that includes all the segments to celebrate the first anniversary of the regular program! “Private Lisa Coco Super!
