The TV anime “Little Citizen Series”, based on “Spring Limited Strawberry Tart Incident” and “Summer Limited Tropical Parfait Incident” by Naoki Prize-winning author Honobu Yonezawa, who also wrote the “Classics Club” series including “Hyouka”, began airing in July 2024.

After the broadcast, it was also announced that the second season of the TV anime based on the sequels and final parts of the four-part series, “Autumn Limited Edition Chestnut Kinton Incident” and “Winter Limited Edition Bonbon Chocolat Incident,” will begin airing in April 2025.
The opening and closing scenes of “The Little Citizen Series” and the main story make an impressive appearance with the townscape of Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, which served as the model for the series. In this article, we will report on a tour of the model locations for “The Little Citizen Series” with the cast, including Umeda Shuuichirou, who plays Kobato Tsunegoro, Hitsujimiya Hina, who plays Osanai Yuki, and Furukawa Shin, who plays Dojima Kengo.
Chuseki Bridge spans the Nagara River that runs through Gifu City. It appears in the scene in episode 1 where Kobato and Osanai are cycling, as well as in image scenes during conversations. The steel tower near the bridge is also impressive.
Gifu Kita High School was the model for Funato High School, where Kobato and her friends attend. There is the bulletin board where the three of them met in episode 1, and the bench in front of the entrance where Osanai sat while waiting for Kobato. Please note that only those with permission are allowed to enter Gifu Kita High School, and photography is not permitted without permission.
It was the model for the Western-style pastry shop “Humpty Dumpty” that Kobato and Kosanai visited in episode 3. The colorful chairs, which left a strong impression in the story, also stood out from outside the shop.
Yanagase Shopping Street appears in episodes 2 and 7. Until November 10th, a stamp rally is being held in Gifu city, where participants solve mysteries and visit various spots, and Yanagase Shopping Street is one of the spots.
This complex cultural facility, which is also a stamp rally spot, consists of the city’s central library and the Civic Activities Exchange Center. The library also has panels and a special corner for the “Little Citizen Series.” In addition, a figure of Osanai, who is currently in the making, is on display for a limited time.
Also until November 10th, a quiz is being held on the Tokaido Shinkansen where you can enjoy exclusive voice acting from Kobato, Kosanai and Dojima. If you participate in the quiz, you can get a bookmark with a 2D code that lets you listen to the special voice acting, and an original clear file at the Gifu City Tourist Information Center.
