The anime “Rurouni Kenshin” is based on the manga of the same name by Watsuki Nobuhiro, which has sold over 72 million copies in total. The previous anime series was broadcast in 1996, followed by OVAs and movies. In 2023, a new TV anime series with a completely new staff and cast was broadcast in July 2023, with the first season consisting of 24 episodes. The second season is currently airing from October 2024.

[Synopsis]
Kenshin and the others set foot in Shingetsu Village, where the Mishima brothers have fled. The village is run by Shishio’s subordinate, Tsurugi, and the villagers are afraid of his violence and can only obey, leaving it in a dilapidated and eerie atmosphere. Kenshin and Hajime, who had heard about the village’s current situation and was visiting, head to the mansion where Shishio is staying. Behind the scenes, Eiji is burning with the desire to take revenge on Tsurugi.
