October 21st is “Light Day.”
This date originates from the fact that it was on this day in 1879 that Thomas Edison perfected the incandescent light bulb.
There are many characters in anime that are associated with light. They have special moves that shine brightly, can move at speeds close to the speed of light, or even have the name “light”…
So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Who comes to mind when you think of a ‘light’ character?”
following on from last year. We received responses from 353 people during the survey period from October 8th to October 12th. There were roughly equal numbers of men and women. The age group was mostly young people, with about 55 percent under 19 years old and about 15 percent in their 20s.
