It’s like a shojo manga? “Blue Lock” Mikage Reo (voiced by Uchida Yuuma)’s heart-wrenching “Idiot…” to his former partner is heartbreaking

In episode 28 of the anime “Blue Lock,” the spotlight was on Mikage Reo (voiced by Uchida Yuuma). The development in which Reo, who had been suffering after parting ways with his partner Nagi Seishiro (voiced by Shimazaki Nobunaga), awakens seems to have warmed the hearts of fans.

Reo is the heir to the large company Mikage Corporation. While he is a “super all-rounder” player, his weakness is that he doesn’t have any outstanding weapons. He was in a partner relationship with Nagi, but he couldn’t keep up with Nagi’s continued evolution in “Blue Lock”, so they decided to go their separate ways after the second selection.

In episode 28, “Chameleon,” Reo and Nagi join forces for the first time in a long while. Reo struggles to prove his progress, but is shocked to see the difference in strength between him and Nagi and the others, saying, “As I thought, you’re not the you I know anymore…”

Reo’s monologue continues. As he gazes resentfully at the exchange between his former partners Nagi and Yukimiya Kenyu (CV: Eguchi Takuya), the two top players, Reo thinks to himself, “I guess I can’t satisfy you anymore, Nagi,” and “You’re a different person now from when you were accepting my passes with such unmotivated eyes, you idiot…”
