The TV anime “The Apothecary Diaries” will collaborate with Kanda Shrine, the main shrine of Edo, to hold the “Special Exhibition Kanda Shrine x The Apothecary Diaries” from November 2nd. Special collaboration goods using original illustrations have been announced.

“The Apothecary’s Notes” by Natsu Hinata is currently being published by “Hero Bunko” and is a mystery-solving entertainment set in the imperial harem, where Nekoneko, a poison taster, solves difficult cases while being forced to do so by the eunuch Jinshi. Two comic book adaptations are also being published in the monthly “Big Gangan” and “Monthly Sunday GX”.

The first season of the TV anime will begin airing in October 2023 with 24 episodes, and the mystery-infused storyline won a special award at the TVer Awards 2023. The second season will begin airing on January 10, 2025, with two consecutive cours.

Nekoneko dressed as a shrine maiden and Jinji dressed in traditional Japanese clothing will appear at Kanda Shrine. The “Special Exhibition Kanda Shrine x The Apothecary’s Notes” will display collaboration visuals drawn by Shino Touko, who is in charge of illustrations for the original novel, as well as 39 framed high-definition digital color illustrations of the cover and frontispiece of the original novel, as well as ukiyo-e prints and historical materials owned by Kanda Shrine.

The collaboration visual shows Nekoneko and Jinshi with Kanda Shrine in the background, as well as Sukunahikona no Mikoto, the enshrined deity of Kanda Shrine’s Ninomiya, who is also known as the god of medicine.

Collaboration goods will also be on sale at the special exhibition, including acrylic stands of Nekoneko and Jinshi, acrylic key chains, badge sets, and canvas art boards.

If you purchase related merchandise at the merchandise venue during the event, you will receive a bromide of an illustration from the original novel “The Apothecary Diaries.”

The “Special Exhibition Kanda Myojin Shrine x The Pharmacist’s Monologue” will be held for a limited time from November 2nd to November 24th (closed every Thursday).
