“Moana” to be broadcast on Friday Roadshow on November 22nd! A fantasy adventure about a girl who is chosen and loved by the sea

Disney Animation Studio’s latest film, “Moana 2,” will be released on December 6th. To commemorate this, it has been announced that the first film, “Moana,” will be broadcast on the Nippon Television Network’s movie program “Friday Road Show” on November 22nd.

“Moana” is a moving fantasy adventure that depicts the beautiful ocean and the emotional growth of a girl who is chosen and loved by the ocean through stunning songs and images. Although Moana is troubled and hurt by the enormous mission of “recovering the stolen goddess’s ‘heart’ and bringing peace to the world,” she meets the legendary hero Maui during her adventure to save the world, overcomes various hardships and paves her own way.

The character of Moana has resonated with a wide range of people and has been supported by many as a new Disney princess, making this a representative Disney animation.

The directors are John Musker and Ron Clements, who changed the history of Disney animation with “The Little Mermaid” and introduced a new Disney heroine in “Aladdin,” gaining tremendous trust and popularity from women around the world. The screenplay was written by Jared Bush, who wrote the screenplay for “Zootopia” and directed “Mirabelle and the Enchanted Home,” and recently became Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The music was created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, a multi-talented composer, lyricist, playwright, singer, actor, and rapper who has won numerous awards including three Grammy Awards, three Tony Awards, an Emmy Award, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and Mark Mancina, a keyboard player active mainly in the field of progressive rock and who served as music producer for the musical “The Lion King.” Opetaia Foa’i, a Samoan musician who has continued to weave the culture and stories of the South Pacific through music, also worked on the album.

The Japanese dub will feature China Yabiku as the protagonist Moana, “the girl chosen by the sea,” and Matsuya Onoe as the “legendary hero” Maui. A talented cast of actors from various fields has been assembled, including Mari Natsuki as Moana’s grandmother Tala, and rock musician ROLLY as Tamatoa, a coconut crab monster who lives in “Lalotai,” a land of demons under the sea. Among them will be Nippon Television announcer Gido Tsujioka, who was affectionately nicknamed “Gidundun” during the Beijing Olympics, as a tattooed villager. Tsujioka has also provided a comment in preparation for the broadcast.

“Moana” will be broadcast in its entirety on the Nippon Television Network’s movie program “Friday Road Show” on November 22nd. Be sure to take this opportunity to review and prepare for the long-awaited new film “Moana 2.”
