It has been decided that the wireless mouse of the early model “Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86)” model used by Fujiwara Tofu Shop (private use) that appears in “Initial D” will be reproduced by “Cam Shop”, a store that plans miscellaneous goods related to Norimono. The mouse, which looks like a miniature car that reproduces the body of the car from the work, is an officially licensed product of Toyota Motor Corporation and Kodansha, and is currently available for pre-order.
“Initial D” is a motorsports manga by Shuichi Shigeno that was serialized in “Young Magazine.” The story follows the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara as he races against other street racers with his beloved car, called “Hachiroku,” and aims to be the “fastest on the public roads.” When the TV anime began airing in April 1998, the heated car racing scenes captured the hearts of many young people and car fans, becoming a huge hit that led to five series and a movie adaptation.
In addition, a TV anime based on the sequel “MF Ghost”, set in the near future, will start in October 2023. The story follows the protagonist Kanata Rivington, who travels from the UK to take on the challenger “MFG”, a motorsport event using fossil fuels, held in a near-future Japan where cars have been converted to electric vehicles. The second season of the series is scheduled to begin airing on October 6th.
