“Spice and Wolf” anime season 2 to be produced! Holo and Lawrence’s journey continues – new visuals released

It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” will be produced. Along with the announcement, a new visual was released with the words “The journey continues.”

“Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” is a TV anime based on the light novel “Spice and Wolf” by Isuna Hasekura, published by KADOKAWA’s “Dengeki Bunko” and celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2021. The series has now sold over 5 million copies in total, and is a popular work that has also had sequels such as “Spice and Wolf Spring Log” and a spin-off series called “Spice and Wolf New Theory: Wolf and Parchment.”

The story depicts a fantasy depicting the various events that occur on the journey of a young traveling merchant, Kraft Lawrence, and his companion through a strange turn of events, a “wise wolf” named Holo, a girl who is the incarnation of a wolf and who protects fertility, as they journey north to do business.

The newly announced second season will see Lawrence and Holo revisit the story after the first chapter, “The Beginning of a New Journey,” the second chapter, “The Shepherdess,” the third chapter, “A Duel with a Young Fish Merchant,” and the fourth chapter, “Legends of the Pagan Gods.”

The new visual shows Holo looking back with the tagline “The journey is still on.” Holo is seen holding hands with a character who appears to be Lawrence and moving forward as if pulling him along, giving off a truly adorable impression.

“Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” finished its first season over two cours starting in April 2024. Episode 25 is available for free for a limited time on ABEMA, and all episodes are available to watch if you subscribe to ABEMA Premium. Let’s look forward to future news about the second season.
