The theme song for the smartphone game “Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs,” based on the TV anime “Bungo Stray Dogs,” has been decided to be “Magatsu Yoru wa Aonari” by GRANRODEO. Along with the announcement, the first PV (short version) has been released.
“Bungo Stray Dogs” is a supernatural battle action series featuring characters named after real-life authors such as Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, and Ryunosuke Akutagawa. The original manga has been serialized in Young Ace since 2012 by Kafka Asagiri and Harukawa 35, and the related books have sold over 15 million copies in total as of June 2024.
Since the first season of the TV anime began airing in April 2016, a total of 61 episodes have been aired over five seasons. In addition, the movie “Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple” was released in March 2018, and the spin-off “Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!” aired in January 2021. April 2024 will mark the eighth anniversary of the TV anime’s broadcast, and to commemorate this, the “Eighth Anniversary, Eight Major Projects” are currently underway.
“Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs”, also known as “Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs”, is a smartphone game developed, operated and distributed by NextNinja, which is another “school”-themed game that was launched in April 2023. It is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2025, and pre-registration is currently being accepted.
It has now been revealed that the theme song for this film will be performed by voice actor Kisho Taniyama’s rock unit GRANRODEO. GRANRODEO is a rock unit consisting of vocalist KISHOW (Kisho Taniyama) and guitarist e-ZUKA (Masaaki Iizuka), and they have previously performed the theme songs for the TV anime series Bungo Stray Dogs.
The first PV, which features the theme song, has already been released. It can be viewed on the official X (formerly Twitter) or TikTok.
This work will also be exhibited at the Animate Girls Festival 2024 (AGF2024), which will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City for two days on November 9th and 10th.
The venue will have three titles: this one, and the April Fools project “Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs” and “Bungo Stray Dogs”.
