It has been announced that “Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA”, the first live-action drama based on “School Idol Musical”, will be broadcast on the MBS Drama Phil slot from November 21, 2024. The drama depicts the youthful school life of 10 high school girls who strive to achieve their dreams. The main cast was also announced all at once.
The “Love Live! Series” is a project with the theme of “A story that everyone can make come true,” depicting high school girls making their dreams come true through “school idols” who are active at school. Launched in 2010, new works such as “Love Live!”, “Love Live! Sunshine!!”, “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club”, and “Love Live! Superstar!!” have been released one after another. They are engaged in a wide range of activities, such as broadcasting TV anime depicting the stories of the members and holding live events featuring the cast members.
“School Idol Musical” is one such series that has been running since 2022. It is a new musical with a completely original story that depicts the youthful school drama of 10 girls with newly written songs. The cast is
made up of fresh and experienced actors, who embody the shining yet hard-working high school girls who make their dreams come true. Additional performances have been added due to the positive reception, and it has been decided that the musical will be adapted into a live-action drama for the first time in the “Love Live! Series.”
The 10 cast members were also announced at the same time. Tsubaki Rurika will be played by Watanabe Miho , who was active in Hinatazaka46 until 2022 and is currently active as an actress, while Takizawa Anzu, whom Rurika looks up to, will be played by Tomita Nanaka, a member of the female idol group ≠ME .
