From the TV anime “Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX”, new products featuring the Laughing Man and Tachikoma from the series have been released. Pre-orders are now being accepted at “DMM Factory”, a goods manufacturer service developed by DMM.com .
“Ghost in the Shell” is a science fiction manga that was first serialized in Kodansha’s “Young Magazine Pirate Edition” by manga artist Masamune Shirow in 1989. It depicts the offensive unit Public Security Section 9, commonly known as “Ghost in the Shell,” led by Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg known as “Major” who has exceptional abilities in cyber warfare and combat, as they confront increasingly sophisticated and complex violent crimes.
“Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” is a TV anime based on the original work, produced by Production IG under the direction and series composition of Kenji Kamiyama, with a total of 26 episodes broadcast from October 2002 to November 2003. Since then, the series has continued to evolve, leading to “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045,” which is being exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix.
In 2026, a new TV anime series produced by Science SARU is scheduled to air.
Of the new products, the “Faux Leather Shoulder Bag (Laughing Man ver.)” is a mini-sized synthetic leather shoulder bag featuring the Laughing Man mark. The simple design is accented with silver metal fittings on the front and an embossed line written by the Laughing Man, “or should I?” The design of the inner fabric is also full of attention to detail that is reminiscent of the work.
The “all-over print shirt,” also designed by the Laughing Man, has a refreshing blue color on a white background. It comes in two sizes, M and L, and is easy to wear on a daily basis.
The “Synthetic Leather Tote Bag (Tachikoma ver.)” is a synthetic leather tote bag with an embossed design of Tachikoma, the multi-legged thinking tank used by Public Security Section 9. The shoulder strap, front side stitching, and inner fabric are Tachikoma’s color blue, creating a simple yet playful design. It is a large size that can easily fit A4 size clear files and laptops, making it a useful bag with excellent storage capacity.
Prices include tax, with the “Faux Leather Shoulder Bag (Laughing Man ver.)” costing 7,150 yen, the “Faux Leather Tote Bag (Tachikoma ver.)” costing 8,250 yen, and the “Patterned Shirt (M/L)” costing 9,900 yen.
