Two anime works, “The Gap in Time and Space” and “Mob Emperor: I, a Man of Ordinary Life, Was Chosen to Rule the Multiverse, So I Tried to Save the World,” planned and produced by China’s major comprehensive entertainment platform “bilibili,” began streaming in Japan for the first time on October 1, 2024. They can be viewed on streaming platforms such as d Anime Store.
“Time-Space Gap” is a laid-back reincarnation anime based on the globally popular game “Dreamland: Journey to the West,” released by NetEase and with over 200 million users. It depicts the story of the protagonist, an unsuccessful manga artist who confronts the approaching monsters through the “time-space gap” that has appeared between the present world and another world. It was distributed on “Bilibili” in 2022 and has been viewed more than 30 million times.
“Mob Emperor: I, who crave mediocrity, was chosen to rule the multiverse, so I tried to save the world” is an animated adaptation of the novel “Xile Empire” (original author: Yuan Tong), which was published on the Chinese online novel site “Yuewen/Kidian Reading” and has over 300,000 subscribers. The protagonist, an ordinary boy who wants to live an ordinary life, suddenly becomes destined to become an emperor after a certain incident and is caught up in an extraordinary situation that attacks him.
Both works, “The Gap in Time and Space” and “Mob Emperor: I, a Man of Ordinary Life, Was Chosen to Rule the Multiverse, So I Tried to Save the World,” have been available on d Anime Store since October 1st.
