To commemorate the 45th anniversary of “Mobile Suit Gundam,” a Char Aznable figure, “GGG Mobile Suit Gundam Char Aznable [Limited Reprint Edition],” has been released. Pre-orders are currently being accepted on the online shopping site “Premium Bandai.”
Mobile Suit Gundam, which began airing in 1979, featured realistic depictions of warfare in which robots were used as “weapons” in the form of “mobile suits,” meticulous scientific research, and a complex and deep human drama. It established the genre of “real robot anime,” which went beyond the simple good-versus-evil theme that had been the trend in robot anime up until that point. It sparked a major boom.
Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space, released in 1982, was the third theatrical release of Mobile Suit Gundam, a re-edit of the latter half of episode 31 to episode 43, and was a huge hit, grossing 2.3 billion yen at the box office. It held the all-time record for about 42 years until it was broken by Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, which was released in January 2024.
To commemorate the 45th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam, the GGG figure series, which recreates characters from Gundam, is releasing GGG Mobile Suit Gundam Char Aznable [Limited Reprint Edition]. As the name
suggests, this product is a reprint of the Gundam Guys Generation (GGG) series, which was resold in 2020.
As a famous pilot and commander during the One Year War, Char Aznable was feared by both allies and enemies as the “Red Comet.”
This figure allows you to fully enjoy his beautiful poses, which make it seem as if you can hear his famous lines.
The head also supports interchangeable parts. The helmet, which is a symbol of Char, can be removed, so you can enjoy it in your favorite look.
When removed, the helmet can be held in the left arm.
