The anime Reconguista in G celebrated its 10th anniversary since the TV series began airing on October 3, 2024. To commemorate this, a “10th anniversary illustration” drawn by character designer Kenichi Yoshida was released. The event “Reconguista in G 10th Anniversary Event ~This is Our Reconguista!~” with a screening and stage greeting was also announced, as well as the release of “Reconguista in G” related merchandise.
“Reconguista in G” is Yoshiyuki Tomino’s first Gundam TV anime series in 15 years since “Turn A Gundam”, and was broadcast for a total of 26 episodes from 2014 to 2015. Tomino not only directed the series as general director, but also wrote the scripts for all episodes himself, pouring his heart and soul into the story of the young Bellri’s encounters in the “Regild Century”, an era beyond the “Universal Century”. A five-part theatrical version with new scenes was also released from 2019 to 2022.
This work celebrated its 10th anniversary on TV on October 3rd. To celebrate, character designer Kenichi Yoshida has drawn the “G Reconguista 10th Anniversary Illustration,” which features all the characters that appeared in the work, including main characters such as protagonist Bellri Zenam, Aida Surgan, and Noredo Nagu. To commemorate the 10th anniversary, a screening event with stage greetings, “Reconguista in G 10th Anniversary Event ~This is our Reconguista!~” has been scheduled for November 16th at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. Including the stage greetings, the event will last about nine and a half hours and celebrate the 10th anniversary by watching the entire five-part film series of “Reconguista in G.” Details such as the speakers for the stage greetings and ticket information will be released at a later date, so please look forward to further news.
Also to commemorate the 10th anniversary, it was revealed that a number of items will be released, including the plastic model “G-Self (Perfect Pack equipped type)”, which will be sold as a limited item at the Gundam plastic model facility “Gundam Base”. Other items planned
for release include the reissued “Face Mug Gundam G-Self”, METAL ROBOT Spirits’ “＜SIDE MS＞ G-Self (Perfect Pack)”, and “Megafauna” from the space battleship figure series “Cosmo Fleet Special (CF-SP)”. For details on each product, please check the official website of each brand.
