From the TV anime “Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket”, a three-dimensional figure of Christina Mackenzie, “GGG Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket Christina Mackenzie -INTO THE SKY-” has been released. Pre-orders are currently being accepted at “Premium Bandai”.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket was the first OVA of the Gundam series, produced in 1989. It is set in the late Universal Century year of 0079, when the battle between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon is at its fiercest. The battle over the Gundam NT-1 Alex, a mobile suit for newtypes developed by the Federation, unfolds on the space colony Side 6.
This is also the first Gundam film to be directed by someone other than Yoshiyuki Tomino. Fumihiko Takayama (WXIII Mobile Police Patlabor) is at the helm, and Haruhiko Mikimoto (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash) is in charge of character design.
The newly released “GGG Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket Christina Mackenzie -INTO THE SKY-” is a figure supervised and made into a three-dimensional figure directly by Haruhiko Mikimoto. It is based on the impressive cover art of his Gundam artbook “INTO THE SKY”, and is a direct reproduction of it.
Christina Mackenzie is a female test pilot for Alex, nicknamed Chris. She is attracted to Bernie, a young pilot of the Zeon army who is after Alex, but they end up fighting without knowing each other’s true identities. The main character, Alfred Izuruha, is a witness to their battle.
This product thoroughly recreates Mikimoto’s delicate hair, creases in the clothes and boots, and the lines of her profile are also irresistible.
The colors are subdued, perfectly reflecting the quality of the original illustrations. If you have the artbook, we recommend you get the figures and line them up together.
