In a town where people and Pokémon live side by side,
a young man named Tim and Pikachu team up to solve the mystery!

Tim (Justice Smith/Ryoma Takeuchi), who used to be a boy who loved Pokemon, has come to distance himself from his father Harry, who is absorbed in his work with Pokemon. One day, as an adult,
Tim receives news that Harry has passed away, and heads to Ryme City, a mysterious town where humans and Pokemon coexist. Detective
Yoshida (Ken Watanabe) gives Tim the key to Harry’s room, where he meets Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds/Hidetoshi Nishijima).
Speaking human language that only Tim can hear, Detective Pikachu tells him that he was Harry’s partner and that he has lost his memory.

Tim and Pikachu, who is adamant that Harry is still alive, visit Lucy, a novice reporter, in search of clues.
According to Lucy, Harry was investigating a purple gas that makes Pokemon called “R” aggressive.
Tim is told by the well-informed Pokemon Mr. Mime that the clue to “R” is in the Roundhouse. He immediately goes to the Roundhouse, where “R” is scattered, causing Pokemon to become aggressive…!
