The 52nd episode of the fall anime “Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-” 3rd season, “The Ice and Flame Ending”, aired on October 9th. The 30 minutes were packed with shocking developments that shocked viewers.
“Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World” is a fantasy based on the light novel by Nagatsuki Tappei, which began serialization on the novel submission site “Let’s Become a Novelist” in April 2012 and was published by “MF Bunko J” in January 2014. It depicts the story of Natsuki Subaru
, a young boy who is suddenly summoned to another world, who uses the power of “Return by Death” to rewind time after dying and confront his cruel fate.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to September 2016. The second season was broadcast from July to September 2020, with the second half from January to March 2021. Two OVAs were also produced. The third season will be broadcast in two parts: the Attack Arc (8 episodes in total) and the Counterattack Arc (8 episodes in total).
In episode 51, which aired last week, Subaru’s life was taken without him even knowing what was going on by Sirius Romanee-Conti, the Witch’s Cult Archbishop of Wrath, who appeared at the Time Tower.
In order to stop Sirius’s crimes, Subaru heads to the Time Tower in this episode to rescue a boy named Rusbell who is being held captive by chains, but is suddenly attacked by an indescribable fear. As Subaru desperately tries to support himself, clutching his trembling legs, he hears the joyous voice of Sirius.
And so the story unfolded, with Subaru, gripped by doubt, being attacked by the Chains of Sirius…
This time, Reinhard, the strongest in the series and known as the “knight among knights,” appears to oppose Sirius. However, even though he delivers the final blow to Sirius with a chop, his powers affect the people around him, and the situation does not improve.
Thus, after Subaru had returned from death three times in the first 15 minutes, viewers commented on social media, saying, “That’s too many returns from death!”, “Sirius is too strong,” and “It’s too difficult to beat him…” They were shocked at the fact that there was no way to counter Sirius.
As the next countermeasure, Emilia will fight Sirius. However, Emilia is kidnapped by Regulus, the man in charge of greed, who promises to make her his 79th wife.
With the appearance of Regulus in addition to Sirius, the situation becomes even worse. On social media, there were comments such as “The shocking developments were so sudden that I felt sick,” and “It was like a one-hour special.”
The next episode will be broadcast on October 16th. ABEMA and d Anime Store will broadcast the episode first on terrestrial TV and at the earliest possible time.
