It has been announced that the “Gintama Multiverse Anime ‘Gintama 3rd Year Z Class Ginpachi Sensei'”, based on the spin-off novel of the “Gintama” manga spin-off “Gintama 3rd Year Z Class Ginpachi Sensei”, will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates from October 2025. A teaser visual and promotional video were released along with the announcement. Comments were also received from the author of the novel, Osaki Tomohito, general director Moriwaki Makoto, director Higashida Natsumi, and Sugita Tomokazu, who plays Sakata Ginpachi.
The anime “Ginpachi Sensei, Year 3, Class Z” is an anything-goes school anime in which the characters from the world of “Gintama” move from Edo to a school setting and enjoy a slightly unusual youth.
With the catchphrase “It doesn’t matter if you’re an extrovert or an introvert, Gintama-style youth is here!”, the tricky students wreak havoc under the guidance of homeroom teacher Sakata Ginpachi, whose trademark is his scruffy white coat and dead-fish eyes, this time on the school stage.
The teaser visual features Sakata Ginpachi, also known as Ginpachi Sensei from “3rd Year Z Class Ginpachi Sensei,” and Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama,” marking a crossover between the two worlds.
The much-anticipated PV was unexpectedly not completed in time, and the announcement was made that “the official PV will be released at Jump Festa 2025.” It’s unclear whether the content can be called a PV, but expectations are building for the official PV to be announced on the BLUE Stage at Jump Festa 2025 from 3:40 PM on December 21st.
In addition, the official Gintama X (formerly Twitter) account will be releasing character settings for the students of Class 3Z from time to time. The first new novel in six years, Gintama Class 3Z Ginpachi Sensei Special: Let’s Go to the Big Ball Game Tournament, will be released on December 4, 2024, so don’t miss this one either.
