“Shizuku-tan’s cosplay was cute” is what viewers say about the live-action drama “Kise Koi”! Viewers are excited to see Marin (played by Nagase Riko) completely transform into “Shizuku-tan”♪ [Episode 3 broadcast]

The live-action drama “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” is currently being broadcast on the MBS/TBS “Dramaism” slot. In the third episode, which aired on October 22, 2024, while the word “beautiful” brings the two closer together, the cosplay of Kitagawa Marin, played by Nagase Riko, was unveiled for the first time in the main story, and Marin, who is completely transformed into “Shizuku-tan”, caused a great stir.

“Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” is a live-action drama based on the romantic comedy serialized in “Young Gangan” by Shinichi Fukuda, which has sold over 11 million copies. The original manga has won a number of manga awards, including the comics category of the “Next Manga Awards” (2019) and the “Recommended Comics Selected by Booksellers Nationwide” (2020), and the TV anime produced by CloverWorks under the direction of Keisuke Shinohara has also been a huge hit, drawing attention.

The story depicts the relationship between Kitagawa Marin, a popular gal in class who loves cosplay, and Gojo Niina (Nomura Kota), a boy who aspires to be a Hina doll head maker and is the complete opposite of Marin in both appearance and personality, as they grow closer while making cosplay costumes, and as they give their all to love and the things they love.

In the third episode that aired last night, while Niina is anxious about having to finish her costume in two weeks until the event, Marin is visibly excited. She shows Niina pictures of cosplayers as reference for making the costume, saying “They’re so pretty, aren’t they?”, but Niina’s reaction is less than Marin expected.

When a worried Marin asks her why, Niina reveals that the word “beautiful” was a special word she felt when she first saw the dolls, and that she can only say it when she truly believes it. Marin accepts Niina’s feelings, saying, “If that’s what you’ve decided, then I think it’s fine.”

As the event draws near, Niina’s grandfather Kaoru (Yamada Akito) hurts his back. At the same time, the midterm exam period begins, and Niina is gradually pushed to the brink between taking care of Kaoru, studying for the exams, and making the costumes. Days go by where she can’t even practice her hairdressing skills, and Niina is disheartened by her own incompetence. Although she is close to giving up, she pulls herself together, determined to see Marin’s happy face, and tries to somehow finish the costumes in time for the event.

Meanwhile, Marin is worried about Niina who is cornered, and contacts her many times, but Niina is absorbed in making her costume and does not reply, and the day of the event arrives. When Marin visits Niina’s house, she is surprised by the finished costume. Marin had not rushed making the costume. Marin sheds tears, saying that she had caused Niina a lot of trouble by not explaining things well enough, but Niina suggests, “Why don’t you come to today’s event?” Niina also applies makeup based on her research on “Shizuku-tan”, and Marin shows off her cosplay, asking, “Am I becoming Shizuku-tan…?”

Marin was very satisfied after finally participating in the cosplay event and being photographed by many photographers. At the end of the event, Niina was tired from making costumes every day and dozed off. She muttered in her sleep, “Kitagawa-san, you were very beautiful.” Marin was touched by Niina’s special “beauty.”

On social media, comments such as, “Gojo’s passion and Marin’s fun in her favorite costume were dazzling,” were seen, as well as reactions to Nagase’s cosplay of Marin, such as, “Shizuku-tan’s costume was cute,” and “Shizuku-tan turned out so cute!”
