It has been announced that the TV anime “I’m an S-Rank Monster Behemoth, but I’m Mistaken for a Cat and Living as an Elf Girl’s Pet Knight” will begin airing in January 2025. The first trailer has been released in conjunction with this announcement. Information was also announced about the appearances of Nonoka Obuchi and Yu Wakui, as well as the opening theme song, written and composed by Enon Kawatani.
“Beheneko” or “I’m an S-Rank Monster Behemoth, but I’m Mistaken for a Cat and Living as a Pet Elf Girl Knight” is a fantasy adventure set in another world, serialized in Young Animal and adapted from a hugely popular original story on “Let’s Become a Novelist” by Shinonome Taro, and with a total of over 1.2 million copies sold. The story begins with the protagonist, a former human knight who lost his life, being reincarnated as a juvenile Behemoth, a disaster-level S-Rank monster, despite his apparent kitten appearance.
Aria, a budding D-rank adventurer, meets him and mistakes him for a kitten. She takes him home, who is seriously injured, treats him, and makes him her pet, naming him “Tama.” Touched by his kindness, Tama becomes Aria’s knight and uses her S-rank powers to adventure in the labyrinth with Aria.
The broadcast start date for this work has now been decided, and the first promotional video has been released, showing Tama’s life as a knight (pet). It has also been revealed that Nonoka Obuchi will play the role of Lili, and Yu Wakui will play the role of Feli. Obuchi and Wakui have also made comments regarding their appearances.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the opening theme song will be sung by Obuchi, who also plays the role of Lili in the film. The song is titled “Saikou no kokoro” (The highest level of my heart), and the lyrics, composition and arrangement will be handled by Enon Kawatani, who is active in a wide range of projects, including solo projects and providing songs to artists, as well as being a member of five groups: “indigo la End”, “Gesu no Kiwami Otome”, “Jenny High”, “ichikoro”, and “Reizan”.
“Saikyou no Kokoro” is a song filled with “S-Rank’s Big Heart,” characterized by an edgy sound and a pop, catchy melody that is suitable for an opening theme song. Comments were also sent from Obuchi and Kawatani in response to being in charge of the opening theme song. The two’s commentary videos are also available on Obuchi’s official YouTube channel, so be sure to check them out as well.
In addition, it was announced that the music for this work will be handled by composer Yusuke Shirato and oni. In the PV released this time, you can hear a part of the opening theme song “Saikou no Kokoro” as well as the soundtrack by Shirato and oni, so be sure to listen carefully.
