As the saying goes, “Autumn is the season for reading,” and autumn, with its longer nights, is considered the perfect season for reading.

There are many characters in anime who are book-loving avid readers. These characters are portrayed in a variety of ways, such as reading everything from novels to manga, living in a room piled high with books, or aspiring to be writers .

So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Who is your favourite bookworm character?”
following on from last year. We received responses from 319 people during the survey period from October 13th to October 17th. The gender ratio was about 35 percent male, 60 percent female, and about 5 percent gave no response, with more females than males. In terms of age group, the majority were young people, with about 45 percent under 19 and about 20 percent in their 20s.
