A collaboration between “Evangelion” and “Godzilla”, the “Godzilla vs. Evangelion Defo-Real Evangelion Unit 2 Beast G Mode Limited Edition” figure has been released. Pre-orders are currently being accepted on the online shopping site “Premium Bandai”.

“Neon Genesis Evangelion,” written and directed by Hideaki Anno, is a science fiction anime that explores the human heart, human relationships, and the very foundations of human nature through the battle between a boy and girl piloting a giant humanoid battle weapon and the mysterious “Angels.” From 2007 to 2021, the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series was released as a four-part theatrical anime that “REBUILD” the series.
The final installment, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time,” was the biggest hit of the series, grossing 10.28 billion yen.

Toho’s Godzilla film series is collaborating with this film. The collaboration project, Godzilla vs. Evangelion, is an original plot that asks what would happen if the monster Godzilla’s G-cells were put into Evangelion. G-cells are
highly invasive, and when they are introduced into other living things, they cause the tissues of those living things to change, so many monsters born under the influence of G-cells have appeared in the Godzilla series.

The “Godzilla vs. Evangelion Defo-Real Evangelion Unit-02 Beast G Mode Limited Edition” is a figure that combines elements of Godzilla with Evangelion Unit-02’s second beast form, “Beast Mode,” from the film “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.”

With its limiter removed, Unit 2 takes on a beast-like form, with elements of Godzilla reflected in its rock-like skin, large dorsal fin, and long tail extending from its body. Posed as if roaring violently, the sinister figure is sculpted into a deformed figure that stands approximately 18cm tall.

This product is a “limited edition,” and when you use the included power unit that runs on two AA batteries, the left eye lights up. It’s equipped with a gimmick that makes it even more terrifying as a monster.

The Godzilla vs. Evangelion Defo-Real Evangelion Unit-02 Beast G Mode Limited Edition figure will be priced at 15,400 yen (tax included), and is scheduled to be shipped in February 2025.
