The second season of “The Apothecary Diaries” will be broadcast in two consecutive seasons starting in January 2025! Dark clouds swirling around the palace… Latest teaser PV released

It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime “The Apothecary Diaries” will be broadcast in two consecutive seasons starting on January 10, 2025. It will be broadcast nationwide every Friday from 11pm on the Nippon Television Network’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” slot. Along with the announcement, the latest teaser PV and key visuals were released. The fourth October visual in the “Traveling Through the Seasons with Nekoneko and Jinshi” project, “Halloween Art ~Nekoneko~” for the upcoming Halloween on October 31st, was also unveiled.

“The Apothecary Diaries” is a harem mystery-solving entertainment based on the novel by Natsu Hinata, which has sold over 38 million copies in total and is currently being published by “Hero Bunko” and is being adapted into a comic in “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX”. Set in the Middle Ages in the Orient, the story depicts the young poison taster Nekoneko solving various difficult cases that occur in the palace one after another.
When the first season of the TV anime began broadcasting in October 2023, it was always ranked high in the viewing rankings on various distribution platforms and won a special award at the “TVer Awards 2023”, becoming a hot topic. In addition to Nekoneko’s refreshing heroine character, the authentic mystery and human drama that unfolds in the harem have attracted a lot of sympathy, and it is loved by a wide range of generations, both young and old.

This new information was announced on October 22nd during the “The Apothecary Diaries: 1st Anniversary & Second Season Release Special.” While the excitement over the first season, which ended in March 2024, is still fresh, it has been decided that the second season will be broadcast over two consecutive seasons starting on January 10th, 2025. It will be broadcast simultaneously nationwide every Friday from 11pm on Nippon Television’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” slot.

In the second season, dark clouds begin to gather within the palace when it is discovered that Princess Tamaha is pregnant. An unprecedented unsolved case also occurs, with Jinshi’s life in danger. As the uneasy atmosphere continues, a caravan from a foreign country and an envoy making unreasonable demands arrive, and further dark clouds gather within the palace. The new difficult case that awaits Nekoneko and Jinshi will eventually develop into a major incident that will involve the country.

The released teaser PV shows a caravan from a foreign country, two suspicious women, and a person dancing under the moonlight. The latest key visual is full of hope for Nekoneko and Jinji, making you wonder what awaits the two who are waiting behind the door, and gives the feeling that a new story is about to begin.

Additionally, as the fourth installment of the “NekoNeko Travels Through the Four Seasons with Jinshi” project, the October visual was also unveiled, depicting autumn cosmos as the theme. NekoNeko heads out to a cosmos field under an orange-hued sky at dusk in autumn. Behind her is Princess Gyokuba watching over her daughter with a gentle expression, and her daughter Princess Suzurei smiling broadly as she touches the cosmos. With the adorable white and pink cosmos flowers blooming all over the place, the visual seems to herald the arrival of autumn.

And with Halloween coming up on October 31st, we have received Halloween visuals of Neko Neko dressed as a Jiangshi, as well as a special video with a mini voice. Neko Neko is dressed as a bloodthirsty monster, a Jiangshi, and instead of her usual listless expression, she seems to be enjoying Halloween. Be sure to also check out the special video with a mini voice by Aoi Yuki. Don’t miss out on the “Halloween Art Final” which is scheduled to be released on Halloween, October 31st.

Furthermore, the “The Apothecary Diaries Halloween in Animate Fair” will be held from November 2nd to November 24th, using this illustration. During the fair, you can receive one of four visual cards for every purchase of “The Apothecary Diaries”-related goods worth 1,100 yen or more (tax included), so fans should definitely check it out.
