October 23rd is Chemistry Day.
The origin of this is that one mole, a unit of quantity of a substance, is expressed as 6.02 x 10 to the power of 23.
In anime and games, there are many characters who are engaged in research in various fields, including chemistry. Each character has a different field of expertise, such as excavating ruins left behind by humans, creating medicines to cure incurable diseases, or uncovering the mysteries of how the universe was born .
So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “What comes to mind when you think of ‘scholar characters’?”
following on from last year. During the survey period from October 12th to October 15th, 249 people responded. The gender ratio was about 25 percent male, about 70 percent female, and about 5 percent gave no response, with more females than males. In terms of age group, the majority were young people, with about 35 percent under 19 and about 40 percent in their 20s.
