The manga Something Small and Cute'', commonly known as Chiikawa”, drawn by illustrator Nagano, which is the original work for “Chiikawa”, began serialization on Twitter (currently known as X) in 2020. The book was published in 2021, and many people were fascinated by its cute characters and surreal story.
Many collaborations have been carried out with apparel brands and popular boys’ manga, and they are gaining popularity among both men and women, including winning the Grand Prix at the Japan Character Awards 2022. The anime has been broadcast on Fuji TV’s Mezamashi TV since April 2022. The first Blu-ray & DVD was released in March 2023.
