It has been revealed that the second season of the TV anime “Little Citizen Series” will be produced and will begin airing in April 2025. The series will be adapted from the original novel series by Honobu Yonezawa, with “Autumn Limited Edition Chestnut Kinton Incident” and “Winter Limited Edition Bonbon Chocolat Incident”. A logo was released along with the announcement, along with comments from Teppei Uenishi, Yume Miyamoto, and Seiichiro Yamashita, who play characters who play important roles in the story.
The “Little Citizen Series” is a TV anime based on the “Little Citizen Series,” a youth mystery novel series that has sold over 1.1 million copies in total, created by Naoki Prize-winning author Honobu Yonezawa, the author of the “Classics Club” series, including “Hyouka.”
Kobato Tsunegoro, who once had a bitter experience with a detective activity called “wisdom work,” decides to aim to become a pure and modest ordinary citizen. He secretly forms a “mutually beneficial relationship” with his classmate Osanai Yuki, who has the same aspirations, and plans to make his high school debut as an ordinary citizen and live a peaceful life, but for some reason, mysterious incidents and disasters come one after another into their school life… This is the plot of the story.
The first season, which aired in July 2024, was adapted from the original novel series, “Spring Limited Strawberry Tart Incident” and “Summer Limited Tropical Parfait Incident.”
The second season, which will begin airing in April 2025, will adapt the third installment of the original novel series, “The Autumn Limited Chestnut Kinton Incident,” and the fourth installment, “The Winter Limited Bonbon Chocolat Incident.” Along with the announcement, comments were received from the three cast members who play characters who play important roles in the story: Teppei Uenishi, Yume Miyamoto, and Seiichiro Yamashita.
Uenishi will play Ueno Takahiko, a first-year student at Funato High School who is a member of the newspaper club and is attracted to Osanai, Miyamoto will play Nakamaru Tokiko, a classmate who confesses her feelings to Kobato, and Yamashita will play Hiyori Yuto, Ueno’s classmate and friend.
