In the 9th episode of the anime “Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season” that was distributed on September 14th, Shokukai Mikoto (CV: Asakura Momo), a university friend of Araragi Koyomi (CV: Kamiya Hiroshi), made her first appearance. The internet was excited with comments such as “I love her so much!” and “Her voice was so laid-back and cute.”

The “Monogatari” series is a juvenile fantasy novel that is famous as the masterpiece of the popular author Nisio Isin. It tells the story of a high school boy, Koyomi, who has become nearly immortal, and the girls who encounter supernatural phenomena. It is made up of six parts: the first season, the second season, the final season, the off season, the monster season, and the family season, and the final season has already been made into an anime. “Monogatari” series: Off & Monster Season” depicts the prequel and sequel to the story of the girls who were saved by Koyomi.
The previous episode 8 depicted Shinobu Oshino’s time as Princess Acerola (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto). Dystopia Virtuoso Suicide Master (voiced by Rika Fukami) ordered Princess Acerola to act tough and to use the first person pronoun “I”. Princess Acerola was confused, but she started speaking in the same tone as Shinobu now, saying, “I understand. From now on, I… no, I will try to behave as vulgarly as possible… I will.”
Furthermore, towards the end of the story, it was revealed that the Suicide Master had given Shinobu her true name, “Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade.”
The story of how she became the shinobi she is today was revealed, and on social media there was a flood of reactions, with comments such as, “Her mannerisms and the way she refers to herself were probably learned from the Suicide Master!”, “Is that how she became ‘I’?” and “Is Kiss-Shot what she became after acting tough?”
In episode 9, “Shinobi Monogatari Shinobu Mustard Sonoichi,” Koyomi decides to help a group of mummified high school girls at the request of Izuko Gaen (CV: Yukino Satsuki). In order to decipher the code “B777Q” left in the vocabulary book held by the mummy, Koyomi visits his new friend, Ikinoko, at university.
Her first appearance is with Ikiko, a student in the mathematics department, who wears glasses and has a gentle tone of voice. When Koyomi appears, she greets him by bumping her fist with him and saying “Ollah!”, giving the impression that they are on friendly terms.
Immediately looking at the code, Mikuko says, “There’s something written on the back,” and finds the number “231.” She then smiles at Koyomi with her “Shaf degree,” saying, “I don’t understand why Araragi-chan, who is smarter than me, can’t crack a code like this.”
With the appearance of the new character, the internet was flooded with excited comments such as “The girl with glasses is cute,” “I love her so much!” “Her appearance is unfair!” “Ikihiko and Koyomi’s greetings were just too good,” and “Her voice was so laid-back and super cute.”
