The TV anime “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko”, which has been broadcast on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” and other stations since July 2024, has been decided to be made into a movie. The movie, “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko Ame no Chi Hare”, will be released on February 14, 2025.
“Senpai wa Otoko no Ko” is a webtoon by manga artist and illustrator Pom, which was serialized on LINE Manga from December 2019 to December 2021, and won third place in the Web Manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2021, as well as first place in the 5th AnimeJapan 2022 Manga Ranking that people want to see adapted into an anime.
The story centers around Hanaoka Makoto, a boy who loves cute things, and carefully depicts the human relationships between the three characters – Makoto’s junior, Aoi Emi, and Makoto’s best friend, Oga Ryuji – and the process of each of them growing up.
The TV anime began airing on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” and other channels in July 2024, and aired its final episode on September 26th.
The recently announced “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko Ame no Chi Hare” movie will be a sequel to the TV series. The teaser visual shows a crying Aoi Emi (voiced by Sekine Akira) with Hanaoka Makoto (voiced by Umeda Shuuichirou) and Taiga Ryuji (voiced by Uchida Yuuma) reflected in her eyes.
In addition, if you purchase the first volume of the TV anime “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko” Blu-ray & DVD, which will be released on October 30th, at a designated store, you will be able to watch the opening part of the movie early and apply for a lottery to attend a screening where you can hear a talk by the cast.
