Mobile Suit Gundam’s Amuro Ray, Char Aznable, Ramba Ral, and Sayla Mass have been made into action figures as part of Megahouse’s “GMG COLLECTION” series. Preorders are currently being accepted at the hobby online store “AmiAmi.”
The anime series Mobile Suit Gundam began airing in 1979. With its realistic depictions of war, in which robots were used as “weapons” known as “mobile suits,” meticulous scientific research, and complex, deep human drama, it established the genre of “real robot anime,” which went beyond the simple good-versus-evil tropes that had been the trend in robot anime up until that point, and sparked a major boom.
Since then, the series has been produced in a variety of forms, including TV anime, theatrical and cinematic works, OVAs, streaming and event videos, and TV specials. It has long been highly popular both in Japan and overseas. In January 2024, “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM,” the latest film in the “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series,” was released.
“GMG COLLECTION” is an affordable series that combines figures and accessories in one package from “GUNDAM MILITARY GENERATION (GMG),” a popular series with a unique worldview that focuses on soldiers, weapons, vehicles, etc. from the world of “Gundam.” The painted, movable figures are about 10 cm tall, as before, and hand parts and accessory parts are included. The packaging has also been changed to a blister type that makes it easier to collect.
“Earth Federation Forces Amuro Ray” is sculpted in the civilian clothes he wore in episode 1 and during the escape, and comes with an Operation V file and a Haro. “Principality of Zeon Forces Char Aznable” is in the Principality of Zeon military uniform style. The clothing is made of a soft material, allowing you to enjoy a variety of poses.
