October 4th is “Angel Day.”
The day is a play on words between “ten (10) and shi (4)” and was established by Triumph, an underwear manufacturer known for its Angel Bra.

Angels, messengers of God, are characters that often appear in anime. They are portrayed in a variety of ways, from those who come to make people happy, to those who cause nothing but trouble, to those who are just as kind as angels .

So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “What comes to mind when you think of an ‘angel’ character?”
following on from last year. We received responses from 1,158 people during the survey period from September 22nd to September 27th. The gender ratio was about 30 percent male, about 65 percent female, and about 5 percent gave no response, with more females than males. The age group was mainly young, with about 40 percent under 19 and in their 20s.
