The synopsis and preview cuts of the second episode, “I Hate Men,” of the fall anime “Ranma 1/2,” which will air on Saturday, October 12, 2024, have been released. In addition, the visual and profile of “Ichiro,” played by Seki Tomokazu, who will appear as an additional character, were also unveiled, and a comment from Seki was also released.
“Ranma 1/2” is a fighting romantic comedy that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Sunday” from issue 36 in 1987 to issue 12 in 1996 by Rumiko Takahashi, who is also known for “Urusei Yatsura,” “Maison Ikkoku,” “Inuyasha,” “Rin-ne,” and “MAO,” and is still immensely popular today.
The story begins when Saotome Genma and his son Ranma, who had been training in China, come to the Tendo family. However, what appears there is a giant panda and a cute girl. After training in China, Ranma has a strange constitution that turns him into a woman when he is splashed with water, and turns him back into a man when he is splashed with hot water. Ranma and his friends get involved with the unique people around them, and they cry, laugh, and sometimes fall in love.
Episode 2: “I Hate Men” Synopsis
Ranma ends up attending the same Furinkan High School as Akane.
When the two of them arrived at school, they found a group of male students waiting in front of the gates asking Akane to go out with them, including the captain of the kendo club, Kuno Tatewaki.
Kunou has feelings for Akane, but when he sees Ranma in female form, he falls in love at first sight…!?
The visual and profile of “Ichiro”, an additional character played by Tomokazu Seki, was also unveiled. “Ichiro”, an original character that does not appear in the original work, is a member of the broadcasting club at Furinkan High School and is well known for his heated live game commentary with his unique way of speaking. He is also known as the “word magician” because he can manipulate words freely.
Seki, who plays the role, commented, “I’m in charge of commentating on various matches. The director asked me to include some improvisation, so I had fun acting in order to add excitement to the film.”
The second episode of “Ranma 1/2,” “I Hate Men,” will begin airing on Nippon TV on Saturday, October 12th. It will be available exclusively on Netflix immediately after the broadcast.
