October 11th is “Hand Care Day” and “Nail Rest Day”.
Hand Care Day is a pun on the Japanese pun of “hand (10) ni good (11)” (good for hands), and Nail Rest Day is a pun on the Japanese pun of “foot nails (10) ni good (11)” (good for toenails), because people have 10 toenails.
In anime and games, there are many characters with distinctive claws. They are depicted in a variety of ways, such as fighting with sharp claws, having fashionable nails, or being able to grow their claws at will .
So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which character has the most memorable claws?”
following on from last year. The survey was conducted from September 30th to October 2nd and received responses from 292 people. The gender ratio was approximately 35 percent male, 55 percent female, and 10 percent gave no response, with more females than males. In terms of age group, the majority were young people, with approximately 50 percent under 19 and 15 percent in their 20s.
