The second episode of the fall anime series Ranma 1/2, “I Hate Men,” aired on October 12th. The voices of Kono Tofu and Kuno Tatewaki were a hot topic, with many saying they were “perfect!”
This work is a fighting love comedy that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from issue 36 in 1987 to issue 12 in 1996 by Takahashi Rumiko, who is also known for works such as Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Rinne, and MAO, and is still extremely popular today.
The story begins when Saotome Genma and his son Ranma, who had been training in China, come to the Tendo family. However, what appears there is a giant panda and a cute girl. After training in China, Ranma has a strange constitution that turns him into a woman when he pours water over himself, and turns him back into a man when he pours hot water over himself. Ranma and his friends get involved with the unique people around them, and they cry, laugh, and sometimes fall in love.

Ranma is going to attend the same Furinkan High School as his fiancée, Akane Tendo. On the way to school, he is splashed with water and turns into a woman, so he stops by the Kono Orthopedic Clinic to get some hot water. A man called out to Ranma, a martial artist, from behind, without him even noticing, is the young teacher at the clinic.
When Akane talks to Tofu, her cheeks turn red and she behaves in a completely different way to how she behaves towards him, and Ranma realizes that she has feelings for Tofu…
“Hey, didn’t you hate guys?” asked Ranma, and Akane’s expression changed as if she had changed her mind and she agreed, “Yes.” Then, as she approached the school, her expression seemed grim, but at the school gates, a large group of male students were waiting for her, asking her out on a date.
This is because the captain of the kendo club, Tatewaki Kuno, suggested, “If you want to date Akane, you have to fight and win! I won’t allow any other dating proposals!” Kuno found out that Ranma was living with Akane and challenged him to a fight. However, in the middle of the challenge, it started raining…!?
Thanks to his father, Genma, Ranma was spared from being seen in his womanly form, but later, when he was challenged to a game again, the two fell into the pool. Kunou rubbed his breasts with all his might, making Ranma anxious that he might discover his true identity. However, when he went to the place where he had been called later, Kunou asked the female Ranma out on a date.
In this work, the voice actors for Kofu have changed to Morikawa Toshiyuki and Kuno to Sugita Tomokazu. However, on social media, there were comments such as “Perfect fit!”, “Just as I imagined!” and “No sense of incongruity!”. In addition, there were comments such as “The exchange between (Tendo) Nabiki and Kuno-senpai is the best lol” and “I really like Kuno-senpai lol he’s funny lol”.
