It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime “WIND BREAKER”, “WIND BREAKER Season 2”, will be broadcast in the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot from April 2025. A teaser PV and teaser visual have been released in conjunction with this. It has also been revealed that Ryota Osaka will play the role of Yu Tsubakino.
“WIND BREAKER” is a yankee manga serialized by Nii Satoru on the official Weekly Shonen Magazine app “Magazine Pocket”. Furin High School is famous for being the ultimate delinquent school with the lowest academic ability but the strongest fights. Haruka Sakura, a first-year high school student who came to the town with the aim of becoming the top, learns that the school has become a group called “Boufuurin” that protects the town, and fights to protect the town as a member of the group.
It regularly tops the popularity rankings of Magazine Pocket, and the collected volumes are quickly reprinted, attracting much attention. The first season of the TV anime, animated by CloverWorks under the direction of Toshifumi Akai, was broadcast simultaneously nationwide on 28 MBS/TBS affiliated stations from April to June 2024 in the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot.
This new information was announced at the TV Anime “WIND BREAKER” Kofu Shopping Arcade Halloween Festival held on October 13th. In Season 2, which is scheduled to air from April 2025, Sakura, who has grown little by little through her interactions with the townspeople as a member of the “Bofurin” and her battles with the Shishigashira Ren, will now face a new enemy as class leader.
The teaser visual features Haruka Sakura (voiced by Yuuma Uchida) and Ren Kaji (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto), as well as Yu Tsubakino (voiced by Ryota Osaka) and other characters who will appear in Season 2. The teaser PV has also been unveiled, raising expectations for the main story.
In addition, it has been revealed that an advance lottery application ticket for the stage play “WIND BREAKER,” which is scheduled to be performed in Osaka and Tokyo in January 2025, will be included in the fifth volume of the Blu-ray and DVD of the TV anime “WIND BREAKER.”
It has also been decided that a game based on the TV anime, “Winhiro” (also known as “WIND BREAKER: The Heroic Tale of the Delinquents”), will be produced. The familiar characters, including Sakura Haruka, Umemiya Hajime (CV: Nakamura Yuichi), and other members of “Bofurin”, will appear in 3D, and the first PV and teaser visuals have been released ahead of the release.
