On Tuesday, October 8th, from 10pm, ABEMA aired “A Night Out with Voice Actors: Tuesday [Uesaka Sumire x Serizawa Yu] #20.”
[Video] Kaori Maeda shows off her “legendary” dummy head
In this broadcast, Kaori Maeda from the TV anime “I am the Most Evil Support Job [Conversationalist] and Command the World’s Strongest Clan” appeared as a guest. They had fun in corners such as “Who is the True Conversationalist!?”, a collaboration project in which three people compete in a board game using conversational skills to decide who has the most “conversational skills,” and “What is Kaori Maeda like!? Additional Profile,” which uncovers the “secret side of Kaori Maeda” that is not listed in her official profile.
Today’s guest, Kaori Maeda, has such a strong image as a heavy drinker that Uesaka and Serizawa commented, “I have infinite livers” and “I think my whole body is liver.” In her usual “super cute appearance” on Tuesdays, Maeda appeared with a bottle of sake in one hand and started drinking it right away, which made the two of them burst into laughter, and the show started off with a bang.
In this broadcast, a collaboration project will be held with the TV anime “I am the Most Evil Support Job [Talker] and Command the World’s Strongest Clan,” in which Serizawa and Maeda star. This work is a flawless organizational fantasy in which the main character, Noel, admires his late grandfather, who was said to be a hero, and aims to become the strongest “explorer,” but ends up manifesting the skills of a support job “Talker,” which is unsuitable for combat, and aims to become the strongest, building an invincible organization (clan) with clever scheming.
First, the two introduced the appeal of this work. Serizawa said, “Noel is a great speaker and also has a great brain. There are scenes where he uses strategy to win over his opponent, so I think people who like mystery stories will also enjoy it,” and asked viewers to pay attention to the “battle of wits” that makes full use of his skillful speaking skills.
Serizawa also revealed that Yamashita Daiki, who plays Noel, had a large number of lines because “speech skills” are a key factor, saying, “70 to 80 percent of the script was Yamashita-san’s.” Maeda nodded enthusiastically and said, “This is an anime that really has Daiki-san’s blood and flesh in it,” and appealed to the unique battle scenes that use “speech skills” in this work, saying, “The battle scenes are really fun! They’re really powerful, so I want you to pay attention to Noel’s speech skills.”
Afterwards, they competed in a board game called “Kotoba Otoshi,” which tested their speaking skills, and held a “Who is the True Storyteller!?” event to determine who was the best speaker among the three. “Kotoba Otoshi” is a game in which a parent slips in a topical word during a three-minute talk, and the respondent has to figure out what the word is. The loser is given an unreasonable penalty of having to “whisper something into a dummy head microphone using the topical word.”
First, Uesaka was asked to be a parent. The topic word was “suits” and the talk theme was “things you want to quit but can’t,” which at first glance seem unrelated, but she said, “When I get drunk, I buy everything online,” and successfully slipped in, saying, “The other day I bought a lamp, a wine cellar, a suitcase, and an electric kettle.” Serizawa and Maeda were confused, saying, “Everything seems suspicious!”, and Uesaka ended up winning.
Next, Maeda challenges his parents with the topic word “legend” and the talk theme “favorite games.” As he is a real game fan, Maeda shares his real-life experiences in the conversation.
However, after that, Maeda suddenly said, “I’ve become a legend among my friends,” and told an episode about playing games all day without sparing time for baths or sleep. The two looked suspicious at Maeda, and deduced, “It’s a sudden tale of heroism,” and “Kaorin is too humble to call herself a ‘legend,'” perfectly fitting the word of the topic.
And the punishment game was carried out. Prodded by “Show us Kaorin’s ‘legend’!”, Maeda performed her dummy head voice for the first time in a live performance. Uesaka and Serizawa were extremely excited, demanding “blow it” and yelling “Ahhhh” and “Out out!”, and thoroughly enjoyed Maeda’s rare dummy head voice.
Furthermore, the show also featured a segment called “What is Maeda Kaori like? Additional Profile Information.” In order to uncover the “other side of Maeda Kaori” that is not included in her official profile, Uesaka and Serizawa added information to her profile on their own and verified its authenticity.
Here, the two MCs began to fantasize about things like “my favorite gym clothes are bloomers” and “my bath mat at home has a Hello Kitty pattern,” and Maeda was embarrassed and said, “Hey! Ladies!?” The show “Seiyuu to Yoasobi Tue [Uesaka Sumire x Serizawa Yu] #20” that Maeda played with is currently being streamed on ABEMA.
At the end of the program, it was announced that Sakura Miko from the VTuber agency Hololive Production will be making a guest appearance on next week’s broadcast on Tuesday, October 15th.
