It has been announced that San-X’s character Rilakkuma will be made into an anime by Production IG. A promotional video announcing the anime has been released, and the theme song will be Rira Ikuta’s new song “stay with me.”
Rilakkuma is a bear mascot character with a zipper on its back. It will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2023 and remains as popular as ever.
In 2019, a stop-motion animation called “Rilakkuma and Kaoru-san” was produced, and the character has gained support from a wide range of generations.
This time, it has been decided that the anime will be produced by Production IG, the studio behind popular works such as “Haikyu!!” and “Kaiju No. 8.”
The theme song will be sung by Rilakkuma fan Rira Ikuta. Her newly written song “stay with me” was unveiled in the anime PV.
Speaking of anime-related songs by Rira Ikuta, she will star in the 2024 movie “Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction” as the main character, Kado Koyama, and she and fellow star ano will be featuring in the theme song. The digital release of “ano feat. Rira Ikuta “Zetsuzetsu Zettai Sanctuary”” and “Ikuta Rira feat. ano “Seishun Oka”” are still fresh in our memory.
The PV was directed by Masami Itatsu, director of “Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san.” We can see a hungry Rilakkuma enjoying a wonderful adventure in the dream world while meeting Kiiroitori, Korilakkuma, and Chairoikoguma.
