It has been announced that a Coji Coji themed cafe, “Coji Coji Fun Classroom Cafe – Play, Eat, and Sleep?!” will be held at Tokyo Solamachi in Oshiage, Tokyo. It will be open for a limited time from November 8th to December 15th, 2024 at the BOX cafe&space Tokyo Solamachi store.
“Coji-Coji” is the definitive edition of “fantasy x nonsense gag” drawn by Momoko Sakura, who is also known for “Chibi Maruko-chan”. Set in a fairy tale land where characters with the mission of “entertaining humans” live, it depicts the daily lives of Koji-Coji, an age- and gender-indeterminate space lifeform, and his unusual companions.
The anime, which began airing in 1997, has run for a total of 101 episodes, incorporating many original stories with social satire. It is popular for its fairy-tale worldview, meaningful words that even adults will find shocking, and nonsensical gags, and even now, more than 20 years after the anime aired, it continues to attract attention for its profound content.
The new “Coji-Coji’s Fun Classroom Cafe – Is it okay to play, eat and sleep?” is a themed cafe based on the concept of “Let’s eat lunch in the classroom with Coji-Coji and friends!” where you can have a fun mealtime with Coji-Coji and his friends.
The menu includes food and drinks inspired by characters such as “Coji-Coji’s Fun ☆ Curry”, “A bird that can’t fly… that’s Jiro, half fish and half bird…”, and “Johnny, eat this and cheer up.” There will also be a variety of unique items that will look great on social media, including desserts such as pancakes on which you can draw Coji-Coji’s face and a parfait inspired by Susie.
In addition, original cafe goods using the original artwork will be on sale, including acrylic key chains, stickers, wooden magnets, clear files, drawstring bags, bandana handkerchiefs, and mugs, along with various other special offers. Enjoy a fun meal surrounded by Coji-Coji and other unique characters in a space filled with a fairy-tale world.
