It has been announced that “My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next” will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 19, 2025. The deluxe “Plus Ultra Edition” will be packed with bonuses, such as a postcard with visuals by the original author, Kohei Horikoshi, and a priority ticket application voucher for a special event scheduled to be held in 2025.
“My Hero Academia” is a hero action manga by Kohei Horikoshi that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for 10 years and concluded in August 2024. Set in a world where people with supernatural abilities called “quirks” are commonplace, the story follows the protagonist Deku, also known as Izuku Midoriya, as he grows up with his friends at the prestigious hero training school, U.A. High School, in order to become a “hero” who protects society and confronts “villains”, criminals who misuse their “quirks”. The total number of copies of the series has exceeded 100 million worldwide, with the latest 41st volume. Fans around the world who have witnessed the thrilling drama and battles unfolding with Deku and other characters have been expressing their gratitude and praise for Horikoshi and “My Hero Academia”.
The TV anime series, produced by Bones Animation, aired for seven seasons from May 4th to October 12th. It depicted the final battle between the hero and the villain, and each episode featured intense, intense battles and drama like a climax. Immediately after the final episode aired, it was announced that the FINAL SEASON would be broadcast in 2025, which caused a huge reaction from fans and viewers, with a mixture of joy and sadness.
“My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next” is the fourth movie that has been a big hit with fans this year, in addition to the conclusion of the original manga and the broadcast of the seventh season of the TV anime. Horikoshi, the original author, is in charge of overall supervision and character design, and an original story has been developed that links with the timeline of the seventh season of the anime.

For the Blu-ray and DVD release, Bones, the production company, has added some scenes, making the film even more powerful than when it was released. The deluxe “Plus Ultra” version will be packed with special features that are unique to this film.
The booklet includes a 44-page “Your Next” special booklet containing newly recorded interviews and valuable setting materials, as well as visuals drawn by Horikoshi for movie tickets and giveaways to moviegoers to coincide with the film’s release, and postcards using illustrations that Horikoshi himself uploaded to X (formerly Twitter).
The set also comes with an “ULTRA DISC” which contains footage of events held in Los Angeles and Japan featuring the star-studded main cast. It also comes with a ticket application voucher for a My Hero Academia special event scheduled to be held in 2025. All of this will be packaged in a special three-sided case featuring original artwork by the work’s character designer, Yoshihiko Umakoshi. In addition to these, there are plans for additional bonuses, the contents of which will be announced at a later date.
The Blu-ray and DVD of “My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next” will be released on February 19, 2025, in both the “Plus Ultra Edition” and the “Regular Edition” which includes only the main disc.
