The December 2024 issue of the magazine “MOE” is now available, featuring the manga “Furiren: The Funeral Parlor” on the cover and a clear file attachment that will make you want to organize your documents. It will be on sale at bookstores nationwide from November 1, 2024.
“Furieren” is a manga currently being serialized in “Weekly Shonen Sunday” and written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. This unique fantasy story, which begins with the defeat of the Demon King, has been well received not only by manga fans, but also by the TV anime that aired for two seasons from September 28, 2023. It has become a social phenomenon, with “Furieren”, “Himmel”, and “Aura” trending on X (formerly Twitter) every Friday night.
On September 28th, a special screening event was held to celebrate the first anniversary of the anime’s broadcast, during which it was announced that the long-awaited second season of the anime would be produced. The series has become a huge topic, with “Frieren Season 2” ranking in X’s trends, and we can’t take our eyes off it.
The popular manga “Furieren’s Funeral” will be featured in “Monthly MOE”, a visually rich feature on art and entertainment such as picture books and characters. Frielen, Fern, and Stark grace the cover of the “MOE December 2024 issue”.
The first part of the issue features fantasy stories that resonate with adults, with the theme of “fantasy that adults are obsessed with.” We will deliver the charm of this work in full, including a collection of words that resonate with adults, and a collection of confusing scenes by character.
Additionally, interviews such as “We asked the Shonen Sunday editorial department! Yamada Kanehito and Abe Tsukasa ‘The making of Funeral Parlor Frieren'” and “How to make an anime that makes you want to travel – Anime ‘Funeral Parlor Frieren’ director Saito Keiichiro and concept artist Yoshioka Seiko” are also included.
Other fantasy stories that you may want to read along with this work will also be introduced, and there will also be a prize corner where a total of 50 people will be able to win “Funeral Parlor Frieren” goods.
As a special bonus, a deformed A4 size clear file is included. The clear file is designed to make you want to organize your documents, as if Frieren had cast a “magic spell on it to make you want to organize your documents.”
The magazine also takes a thorough look at an exhibition of the manga “One Piece.” The never-before-seen “ONE PIECE ONLY” exhibition currently being held at the PLAY! MUSEUM in Tachikawa, Tokyo explores how “One Piece” was created.
Also featured is the graphic novel “UNICO: AWAKENING,” a new interpretation of the classic manga “Unico” by manga artist Osamu Tezuka. It will guide you through the new world of Unico.
The magazine “MOE December 2024 issue,” with the manga “Furieren” on the cover, has been on sale at bookstores nationwide since November 1. There are still many picture books and art featured, so be sure to check it out if you see it in a bookstore.
